Saverio aveva un desiderio che cresceva giorno dopo giorno che chiedeva di essere esaudito che doveva essere avverato Un viaggio in Cina nell'immenso Regno di Mezzo il paese dei racconti di Marco Polo il paese della muraglia
Entrare in Cina era proibito agli stranieri e Saverio tenta con ogni mezzo di farsi strada. I suoi tentativi falliscono uno ad uno. Ma non si perde d'animo. Non può. Non gli è mai successo. Non capiterà nemmeno ora. Ora che si trova a Sancian, una piccola isola di fronte a Canton. Un mercante cinese gli ha promesso di imbarcarlo clandestinamente a bordo della sua grande giunca. Deve solo aspettare.
